Master Jessie Smith

  • Head Instructor – Taekwondo Program
  • Head Instructor – BMA Kickboxing

Master Jessie Smith is the nephew of 8th Dan Kukkiwon Grandmaster Brenda Seo and has dedicated much of his life to the study and instruction of Taekwondo. In 2014, he joined the C.I.T. (Certified Instructor Training) Program, where he assisted full-time in Taekwondo classes under the guidance of his cousin, 6th Dan Kukkiwon Master Joseph Seo. The C.I.T. Program was established by the Unified Taekwondo Association to train and certify qualified Taekwondo instructors.

In April 2016, Master Smith successfully tested for and earned his 1st Dan Black Belt under Master Shane Seo. During the same month, he completed the C.I.T. Program and became a certified instructor.

In December 2017, Master Smith took over ownership and operation of his family’s Taekwondo school, until the COVID-19 pandemic forced nationwide shutdowns in March 2020. In April 2021, he relocated his Taekwondo program to Brunson Martial Arts (BMA).

As part of this transition, Master Smith was appointed Head Instructor under the BMA banner. In July 2022, he tested and was promoted to 3rd Dan Black Belt by Grandmaster Brenda Seo and Grandmaster Young Seon Seo, recognizing his continued dedication to Taekwondo instruction and leadership.

On March 13, 2026, Master Smith was tested and promoted to 4th Dan Black Belt by Grandmaster Brenda Seo. This achievement reflects years of dedication, leadership, and commitment to both his students and the art of Taekwondo. Today, he continues to serve as the Head Instructor for both the Taekwondo and Kickboxing programs at Brunson Martial Arts, helping students of all ages develop confidence, discipline, and respect through martial arts training.
