Stephen Swails

Stephen Swails began his martial arts journey in 2004. At age 15, he was in BMA’s first Homeschool class. His primary Sensei was Shaun Renshi. Stephen  is one of 3 students in 20 years to ever jump up a rank (skip over a belt) due to his hard work  and ability to reapply his training.

After earning his Shodan rank, Stephen took on an assistant instructors roll at the dojo and began teaching the Homeschool classes after Shaun Renshi took a break from teaching.

Stephen has been a strong competitor on the local and Tri-state tournament circuits as well as a coach for Team BMA over the years.
